Hurst gives support to Jeffress

Tuesday night, Q. Byrum Hurst gave his full support to State Senator Gene Jeffress in the race for the Fourth District Congressional seat.

The Hot Springs attorney, and Democrat, tearfully thanked supporters just before 10 p.m. Tuesday night saying the votes yet to come in from Garland County would not be enough to win against Jeffress.

The Hurst campaign issued this statement following his speech:

“First and foremost, I want to thank my family, friends and neighbors for their tremendous support in this campaign. Now more than ever, it is clear that this district deserves a Democrat committed to building on the track record of Mike Ross, and I am committed to working with State Senator Gene Jeffress to ensure we can Arkansas forward.”
