LITTLE ROCK, AR-- Ice cream truck regulations could soon be coming to North Little Rock. An ordinance will be presented Monday to the council.
Alderwoman Beth White says it all comes down to safety. She says if ice cream trucks are operating after sunset, then that would make it difficult for drivers to see young kids running after their favorite popsicle.
So she is sponsoring an ordinance that would require ice cream trucks to stop serving treats at eight every night, or sunset, whichever happens first.
Frosty Treats manager Jerry Watkins is okay with the proposal, but wants to make sure it is enforced if it is passed.
"It keeps all the unsafe people out of the business," said Watkins.
The council meets monday at 6:30.
