However they did say they harbor no hatred toward him. You could tell he was in some pain. He had to sit on a pillow as he talked to us at the recruiting station in Jacksonville. Despite being shot three times he seems to be recovering well. He has a great support system in his mom and the army.

Private Quinton Ezeagwula limped into the recruiting center in Jacksonville surrounded by his mother Sonya and Captain Matthew Feehan with the army. "I got shot in the back," Ezeagwula said.

It happened 7 days ago Quinton and Private William Andy Long were shot as they stood outside the Army Navy recruiting center in Little Rock. Long died from his injuries Quinton is on the road to recovery and for the first time since the shooting he's speaking publicly.

While Quinton just met Long two weeks ago he says long was a good guy and they became fast friends. They were talking about where they'd been and their plans for the future when the shooting happened. Quinton doesn't like recalling that day but mom remembers it vividly.

"I got the call I thought it was my other son," Sonya Ezeagwula said.

Sonya E says this is a trying ordeal but they are getting through it because of their faith. And it's their faith that won't allow them to hate Abdulhakim Muhhamed, the man accused of wounding her son and killing Private Long.

"We don't have any ill feelings we just pray justice is served." Quinton doesn't think much about Muhammad. Right now he's just focused on getting well and back to what he loves.

"I love defending this country," Ezeagwula said.
