U.S. attorneys have charged a Pulaski County inmate in connection with the Randeep Mann trial.

A federal grand jury has indicted Hamis Alshareqi, 22, for assaulting a witness in the case. Prosecutors say Alshareqi hit the unidentified witness with a metal object to keep that person from testifying.

If convicted Alshareqi could face a 30-year prison sentence.
