LITTLE ROCK, AR -- It takes a lot to get your favorite ride set up. Some rides take hours, while others take days.

But you won't get on until inspectors from the state Labor Department give the green light.

"They're literally going to go by and look every nut, bolt, and cart. They literally do a step-by-step inspection on every part of the ride," said Daniel Faulkner, who represents the Arkansas Department of Labor.

Faulkner said inspectors are re-certified every year to make these safety checks.

"We enforce the manufacturer's specifications, make sure it's set up like it's supposed to be, and they actually will hold the inspection up," Faulkner said.

And "The Sizzler" is ready to go.

Of course the last part of this inspection process is to make sure the ride runs smoothly, and they make sure there's enough distance between the ride and the fence.

Inspectors say even though they sign off on the rides, they encourage you to follow the rules.

It's for your own safety.

"Make sure you follow the instructions that the ride operators give you. Follow the signage. That's the point. That's why it's there," Faulkner said.
