JACKSONVILLE, AR – Officials from the Jacksonville Police Department are searching for a man suspected of stealing money from a church and school.
According to reports, on March 18, police responded to a burglary at Bible Baptist Church and Jacksonville Christian Academy, located at 3301 N. First Street in Jacksonville. Police believe the burglary may have occurred between 9:45 pm and 6:30 am.
Police say a Wal-Mart employee saw a man carrying a large plastic jar and a First Arkansas Bank and Trust bag into the store during the early hours of March 18. Witnesses say the man requested large bills in exchange for a large amount of small, loose bills and put loose change into the Coin Star machine, later leaving the jar and bank bag at Walmart.
The man is described as about 6’1”, weighing about 165-180 pounds and wearing a dark T-shirt with a guitar across the front and dark jeans. The man had a receding hairline and half-sleeve tattoos covering both of his forearms. He was observed driving a dark colored, four door SUV.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the man.
