A popular Jacksonville pastor could get up to a year in jail if found guilty of beating his ex-wife.
He denies the allegation in the police report and says she hit him. Police say the altercation happened in the parking lot of Saint Luke Baptist church, while a crowd watched.
Police say Eric Alexander got into an argument with his ex-wife, Shannon Alexander, Tuesday night at 6:20 while church members gathered. The former couple was meeting at the church for a custody exchange.
According to the police report, Shannon claims Alexander hit her in the face repeatedly while their young daughter watched.
Alexander claims his ex-wife hit him in the face after he asked her to leave.
Neither Shannon nor Alexander answered their doors Friday afternoon.
He will be in court on December 31st.
