A Garland County Deputy is under house arrest and facing a rape charge.

The Garland County Sheriff's Department is down a deputy after arresting jailer Garvin Todd Reid, Sunday.  An inmate told jail staff Reid raped her earlier that day in a cleaning supply closet.

"There was not an actual witness," said Sgt. Joel Ware with the Garland County Sheriff's Department. "There was a detention deputy that had to come in as the two individuals were coming out of the supply room."

Reid was terminated from his position as a jailer, and the Garland County Sheriff says no matter how his trial goes, he won't be getting his job back.

"These allegations and any other allegations of misconduct will not be tolerated by the Sheriff's office and swift actions will be taken," added Ware.

The Sheriff's Department is turning the rest of the investigation over to State Police while the courts wait for rape kit test results to come back from the State Crime Lab.

Marines commit crimes too as do jailers and law enforcement, they have to take it seriously and I can only assume they didn't like his answers.

My comment on the story is that a CRIMINAL is accusing a man who is a former Marine, Iraq Veteran, of a crime that he would not committ in a million years! She is a convict, so we should really trust her word right?! BTW, As Sargent Wares states, there were no witnesses to the crime. The sad thing is that the truth will set him free, but not reverse all the slander he has taken in the media.

It's good to see you are learning, just comment on the story and not the comments, much more fun that way. Opinions are like azz=holes, everyone has one. By the way, the weather was great today, shot 78 so it could have been some easy money for ya. Tomorrow is fishing in the bay for Cobia then grill out with friends.

You know you are innocent until proven guilty. Why in the world would you believe, with out proof, someone who is probably looking for a way out anyway? Why don't you wait for the state crime lab to have the results before people start accusing anyway?
