Judge declares mistrial for Gould mayor

GOULD, AR – A judge declared a mistrial for Gould Mayor Earnest Nash, FOX16 has learned.

According to reports, Judge Rob Wyatt of Jefferson county called for a mistrial Tuesday, saying that the evidence was introduce improperly. Also questioned was testimony about Nash’s use of funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Nash was accused of forgery with a bank account that was opened to help with flood relief in Gould.

There is no word yet on whether there will be a retrial.
