LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Police are investigating a robbery that occurred Sunday night at Kmart on Rodney Parham.

According to a Little Rock Police report, officers responded to a robbery call just after 9:00 Sunday night.

The assistant manager of the store told police that after closing the business, he noticed his front tire had been slashed. As he knelt down to repair the tire, a man walked up from behind his vehicle brandishing a silver handgun.

The suspect reportedly demanded that the assistant manager open the store and take him to the safe, an order with which the victim complied.

According to the report, the suspect then took all the money from the safe and ordered the victim to let him back out of the store.

The suspect got away with an estimated $6,000.

Officers searched the area with negative results.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is encouraged to contact Little Rock Police.

Obviously, most commenters didn't read the story correctly bc if you did as we whom well understood the story did, you wouldn't be making the comments that you are that make absolutely no sense. The manager didn't walk out with the money, he was forced to go back inside. For you to live in the area & say "something doesn't sound right", you sound very questionable bc everyone knows that the area has a lot of crime. El Chico's, Wendy's & the apartments in the area you just happen to live in have had murder, robberies & various forms of crime but that sure doesn't sound right to you. Also the Arkansas Democrat Gazette publishes he crime going on in not only your area but all areas of Little Rock. Something doesn't sound right, really? Y would the manager be "in on it" on a slow day such as Sunday that would bring in a very small amount of cash? Some people (commenters) are just plain stupid.

Please re-read the story. The manager wasn't carrying the $6000 with him. he was made to go back in and open the safe.

I smell a rat... This does not sound right at all. Walk out with $6000.00. Kmart, you better start on the inside. There is no way I will walk out of any business with that amount of money on me. Don't Wells Fargo or someone pickup their money??? IJS
