LITTLE ROCK, AR — The Little Rock Police Department has fired an officer who is charged with manslaughter in connection to the shooting of a 15-year-old boy, FOX16 has learned.

”On Friday, October 19th at around 11:00 am. Josh Hastings' employment with the Little Rock Police Department was terminated,” Little Rock Police Spokesperson Sgt. Cassandra Davis said in a statement.

“The bases for his termination were the violation of several departmental polices. No further comment will be made in reference to his termination until all appeals have been exhausted. Those appeals include any Administrative appeals, Civil Service, Circuit or Supreme Court appeals that might apply.”

According to police, Hastings was responding to a suspicious persons call on August 12 when he shot and killed 15-year-old Bobby Moore Jr. Hastings was charged with felony manslaughter on September 7. Hastings has pleaded not guilty.

Little Rock Police Chief Stuart Davis said that evidence from the scene contradicted Hastings assertion that Moore was driving toward him when he fired.

Hastings next court appearance is set for January.

Butch, you are wrong about me, as usual. To answer your question of have I ever shot anyone, the answer would be yes. Outside of the people I shot/killed while in the military, I have been in 2 situations in my long life that forced me into that position. The first was back in the 70's when someone shot at myself and a handful of others in a group in Houston Texas. That one survived, and I never faced criminal charges. The second was in the early 90's. Some assclown decided it would be a good idea to kick in the door to my garage. When I opened the door, he fired two shots at me, missing both times. I fired numerous shots at him and made them count. That POS did not survive. Did it make me feel ashamed or did I lose sleep over either of them? Hell no. Would I do it again? Hell yes. You mentioned "you must be one like we hate" in your comment. If you hate me for what I did or for my thoughts on piece of trash thugs (all races included, so dont go there) running around killing people and basically getting away with murder, then more power to you. I know what I stand for, and it sure as hell is not people killing, raping, molesting kids or what not. These people need to be eradicated.

@protector- I read these comments EVERY DAY from the same people. I know most people on here have kids, or talk about serving our country in the '80s. I'm not disputing the fact that this kid needed to be stopped. Yeah, he was out of control. I'm arguing the fact that people don't know this kids complete story. So no. I'm not jumping to anything. I'm drawing a conclusion based off of what I have seen repeatedly on this website.

Itsjustme you are always talking about how you would shoot someone down. You must be one like we hate. Think the answer to everything is a gun. I'll bet you never have. I have shot someone to protect myself. I did it but I don't know who it hurt the most. He wasn't happy about it but I was throwing up and was ashamed about it. It's not a feeling I want to experience again.

I don't know what was in the officers heart. I doubt he knew the age of the boy, just like the Trayvon shooting. If he was anywhere near the front of the car, he may not have known the car had been put in reverse. It was DARK. These little punks need to be stopped...the only way to do that is put some fear in them, if they have enough sense to get scared. His mother should have expected this to happen...OR FOR HIM TO KILL SOMEONE AND GO TO JAIL FOR LIFE. Sorry mom, he was headed the wrong direction

@Feister--how do you know how old people are who have commented here? And what does that have to do with anything? Looks like you jumped to a few conclusions yourself.

Here's an idea; how about everyone stop jumping to conclusions. Unless you have the legitimate police report of what happened that September day, all you have to go off of is what Fox16 and other media are telling you. Stop being a bigot, and just wait for the mans trial. This is insane. I read more immature comments on here, from people who I know have to be at least 30-40 years old. I'm 21 and I actually THINK before I say something. At least act like you have some damn sense if anything else.

This scum of an officer should have been fired along time ago. He cleary couldnt perform his job duties up to standard. LEO are trained to protect and serve not to murder kids.He would have been killing little old ladies next.
