LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The Hurst Metallurgical Research Laboratory has released an investigation report of the fractured section of the Pegasus Pipeline.

FOX16.com content partner ArkTimes.com has obtained the 243 page report, which gives the laboratory's take on why the pipeline ruptured.

According to the article, the report states that the rupture in the pipeline was 22 feet long on one 50-foot section of the pipe, and that while manufacturing defects did contribute to the pipeline bursting, the report addresses the idea that the actual daily use of the pipe could have also been a contributing factor.
