Lakeside Schools on Lockdown in Hot Springs

Incident near campus reported not to involve the school.
Update: The Hot Springs Police Department has issued the following statement regarding the school lockdown Wednesday morning:

Earlier today the Hot Springs Police Department was contacted in reference to suspicious activity at the Valero fuel station located near Lakeside School. One of the reports was that a male possibly brandishing a gun had entered the woods towards the school. As a precaution Lakeside School was locked down. One male was located in the woulds and has been detained. Another female located at the fuel station has also been detained. NO gun was located. Lakeside School has been cleared and released from lock down status. Mr. Cook with Lakeside School will be conducting a press release for all media at 2pm at the administration building at Lakeside School. Hot Springs Police Department would like to thank all assisting agency that helped today.

HOT SPRINGS, AR - Lakeside Schools in Hot Springs are on lockdown after an incident near campus.

That's according to Hot Springs Daily (HSD), which reports that the Hot Springs Police Department and SWAT teams are on the scene. The police are reported to be searching a wooded area for two men described as “suspicious.”

Another man and a woman are reported to be in custody after a disturbance at a store in the area, which has nothing to do with the school, HSD says.
