LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel has rejected the ballot title of a marriage equality proposal submitted by the Arkansas Initiative for Marriage Equality.

McDaniel's office cites the reason as "ambiguities in the proposed amendment's text."

The ballot title proposal can be altered and resubmitted.

The opinion isn't meant to represent a legal interpretation or reflection of the merits of the effort, it is only meant to be sure the title is clear, accurate and representative of the intent of the legislation.
