Little Rock Police investigate early morning homicide

Police are investigating an early morning stabbing that left one man dead.
LITTLE ROCK, AR – Police are investigating an early morning stabbing that left one man dead.

According to reports, police responded to a residence located at 6819 West 33rd Street in Little Rock around 2:26 Friday morning. When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as 42-year-old Willy Peair, lying on the bathroom floor with blood on his face and shirt. Peair was transported to Baptist Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police took several underage witnesses to the downtown detective’s office, where taped statements were taken about the incident. As a result, 30-year-old Carol Denice Burton was brought to the detective’s office, where it was determined that she stabbed the victim in the chest during an argument. Burton was charged with one charge of first degree murder, and DHS took custody of the juvenile witnesses.

The investigation is ongoing.
