Little Rock Ranks Low in Safe-Driving Report

Allstate Insurance ranked Little Rock No. 112 out of America's 200 largest cities in its ninth annual "Allstate America's Best Drivers Report."
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The results are in, and it doesn't good for Little Rock drivers.

Allstate Insurance
ranked Little Rock No. 112 out of America's 200 largest cities in its ninth annual "Allstate America's Best Drivers Report."  The report used car collision frequency to identify which cities have the safest drivers.

According to the report, the average driver in Little Rock will experience a car crash every 9.1 years.
It appears other cities are approving, for Little Rock had its same average of 9.1 in 2012 but fell from being ranked No. 106.

“We don’t want drivers in Little Rock to be discouraged by their ranking,” said Allison Hatcher, regional spokesperson.  "Instead, we want the report to challenge drivers in Little Rock to make positive changes to their driving habits that will in turn make the city a safer place to live, work and raise families."

Fort Collins, Colo., claimed the top honor for the third time with its drivers averaging an auto collision every 13.9 years, which is 28.2 percent less likely than the 10-year national average.

From 2011-12, car crash fatalities increased by 1,700, according to the National Highway Safety Administration.  It was the first year-to-year increase since 2005.
