LITTLE ROCK, AR – An owner of a Little Rock business reportedly chased down several suspects who robbed his store.

According to Sgt. Cassandra Davis with the Little Rock Police Department, Police responded to the Urban Swagg store located at 315 Bowman Road in response to a shooting that had just occurred. When they arrived, police spoke to several witnesses, including Dexter Mitchell, the owner of the business.

Mitchell told police that while inside of the store, three unknown suspects came inside and began to walk around. One suspect approached him and asked for a pair of shoes, then pulled out a black semi-automatic pistol and pointed it in Mitchell’s face. The suspect reportedly told Mitchell to get behind the counter and asked for the key to the register.

Mitchell said that after explaining to the suspect where the key to the register was, he pushed away the weapon and began to struggle with the suspect. The other suspects then began to hit his face and head, then tied up his hands and feet. The suspects also tied up Mitchell’s girlfriend, Ayika Haten. The suspects reportedly stole an unknown amount of expired concert tickets along with $200 from Haten.

Mitchell told police that the suspects then fled the business and he chased after them, firing approximately six shots from his personal revolver. Witnesses reported seeing Mitchell chase the suspects who occasionally fired at Mitchell, with Mitchell returning fire.

Witnesses told police that there was an orange and black Chevy Avalanche along with a Red Honda Accord near the business that could be potential suspect vehicle. Mitchell was treated for his injuries at the scene.

Police searched the area for the suspects, but were unable to locate any. The investigation is ongoing.

Where are the police? Let me guess, writing speeding tickets and serving warrants...real police work!

the earlier comment is true - he was no longer threatened when he started shooting. if he'd hit somebody - suspect, bystander, anybody - he'd be facing criminal charges and then he'd be getting his ass sued. very true, he should have had the gun on him, and he should have learned how to use it effectively and safely. Mainly, he should have known that once the threatening suspects left the scene, he had no legal right to shoot at them

He's lucky he didn't hit them. Once the threat was removed, he had no right to shoot. You're only allowed to shoot in self defense. You can't shoot the robber in the back as he runs. His second problem is, there are six bullets un-accounted for. Where did they hit? He could have shot an innocent bystander. If you're going to have a gun, you have to be responsible with it. Having said that, stacking robbers like cord wood would be a good start.

He does need to spend more time at the range. Moving targets aren't that hard to hit if you have the training.

Y'all funny talking about he missed hitting one of them, I just wonder what would you do in his shoes! Acting like you can do better! It's not a movie! I'm glad he didn't get hurt, because he's working making his money right! For three jokers to come in and rob what he's working for cause they can't make their ends meet! So shut the hell up! Thank goodness he's okay and tried to get them down!!!

LOL! What a joke. Beat down like a punk in front of your main thing. Just to find out you can't hit a bull in the butt with a bass fiddle. LOL. Issue the no shooting fool a permit.

I am just really sorry he didn't kill all three of them. Like protector20 said...if the saw some of their thug friends in body bags, maybe they will find some other way to make their drug money.
