Police arrested Daniel Kellebrew for stealing from other people and after getting out of jail on bond he went back to the Malvern Police Department to recover some of the items he claims belongs to him.

In front of police Daniel Kellebrew didn't shy away from admitting his involvement in a string of car break-ins. GPS systems, cell phones, ID cards, purses and marijuana are all among the items Malvern Police say Kellebrew, Colby Alston and Dylan Williams took from cars between midnight and 6:00 a.m. Friday morning.

Out on bond Kellebrew came back to the police department to get some things he claims belong to him.

LaTresha asks, "You stole from other people but you want your property back?" Kellebrew replies, “Yeah." He went on to say it belonged to him and he wanted it back and he doesn't know why he took other people's property.

There are 24 cases of breaking and entering of vehicles. "That's hard to believe you don't think it goes on but that shows it does and people need to look out for it," says Spencer Duncan who lives in the area of the car break-ins.

The break-ins all happened in one area of town from Harper to Glover to Wilson Street and Pleasant Street but that's where it all ended.  A neighbor saw a man under a carport peering into car windows and called police.

"I'm glad the officers took a proactive approach to finding the first suspect without that we wouldn't have been able to do as much as we did in such a short time," says Detective Randy Neal with Malvern Police.

People in this area are thanking police and their observant neighbors. They also have a message for the suspects.

"We work hard for what we got, sometimes it ain't much but at least we're trying. They need to do the same thing," says Duncan.

That's a message at least one of the suspects may be willing to listen to now.  Malvern Police got one of the suspects near the scene of one the break-ins; he gave up the names of the other two.  Police arrested them about two hours later.

I was one of the people he stole from i think they shouldn't be let out they should be sent to a cap for trouble kids parents that bailed them out i think you should of let them sit in jail, only way they learn, If you let them out they will go back and do it again. They are lucky no one came out with a knife to get them away or a gun, you just got lucky kid.

JohnqPublic - Pretty sure the person you spoke about has a criminal history but the guys that comitted the 24 counts of B&E has out wieghed his criminal history in one night and that's a fact!

Hey sometimes it does have to do with the color of your skin. Look how small malvern is everyone almost knows everyone. I just believe things are ridiculous when you can't even count on the system to do right. some cops, judges, and people in general are crooked. Thats y people are starting to take actions into their own hands. If we wake up and one by one do something about it then maybe we can help a little at a time. Racism is so big now and days that its hard to be treated fairly if your black or white.

Clasylady, I searched alot of the newspaper records here in Malvern for another incident of breaking or entering that you have spoken of. I located one where Patrick Davis of Malvern was caught breaking into cars and his bond was set at $20,000.00 Dollars. I know Patrick Davis in Malvern he is a career criminal no doubt about it. All records are open to the public if you want to know about his history. I can check with the clerk and post more info if you would like to continue this debate. Perhaps we all should know facts before we jump to conclusions. I hope this has informed you.

Before you start saying that "racial profiling" is going on you should know all details of the story. I sure hope it was not that way!

Mikerthebiker - 7/28/2009 11:04 AM
I don't really think it is "Racial Profiling" as you have stated classylady. I think it is exactly as johnqpublic has put it, the other parties mentioned have no doubt been in trouble before, henceforth, their bail was set higher. Apparently, this is the first time these guy's have ever been in trouble so their bail was set lower. Fair, maybe not, but that is probably the way it was.
