JONESBORO, AR - On March 10th dash cam video shows Michael Dyer being pulled over by Arkansas State Police for speeding.

Marijuana and a hand gun were found in the car, but that's not what he told his head coach.

"Mike admitted to having a gun in the trunk of his vehicle," said Arkansas State Coach Gus Malzahn. "But adamantly denied being in possession of any drugs."

On July 27th ASU received a call from Arkansas State Police saying the video was available that shed new light on the traffic stop.

"This new evidence gave me reason to believe that drugs were involved, despite adamant denials," said Malzahn.

These details led to Dyer's dismissal on Saturday July 28th.

During Wednesday's media day, Malzahn also denied any contact with the officer in the video, Trooper Royce Denney.

"The police officer never contacted me and to my knowledge, I've never met him," said Malzahn

ASP released a statement Monday that Trooper Denney was currently being investigated for his behavior during the traffic stop.
