LITTLE ROCK, AR -- A man was hospitalized on Wednesday after police say he was shot in the face while driving.

According to the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD), officers responded to I-30 and West Baseline around 7:15 Wednesday night in reference to a man being shot in the face.

When officers arrived, several people were standing around the victim, who was suffering from a head injury. The victim told officers that while he was driving on Baseline Road, a person in a red Plymouth Neon rammed his truck and shot at him, according to LRPD.

Police say four passengers were in the pickup at the time, including two who told officers that they had been robbed earlier at Enterprise Liquor by a man in a red Plymouth Neon.

The passengers told police that while they were riding around with the victim, they saw the red Neon in front of them and tried to get its license plate number, but it suddenly slowed down.

LRPD says the victim then attempted to go around the Neon when a passenger in the car started shooting, striking the driver, who then drove into a tree.

Anyone with information on this crime is encouraged to contact LRPD.
