FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a 40-year-old man in Seattle in connection with an attempted bombing of a polling place at a northwest Arkansas church in June.

U.S. Attorney Deborah Groom says Mark Krause was arrested without incident Friday and appeared before a federal judge in Washington Krause was ordered detained and returned to Arkansas.

Court records don't indicate if Krause has an attorney or when he might next appear in court.

Authorities found an improvised explosive device inside a soda can at Osage Baptist Church in Osage, Ark., on June 8 and say that the bomb could have killed anyone within 10 to 15 feet of it had it exploded.

They say in court documents that bomb-making materials had been found in a foreclosed home in Huntsville once owned by Krause.

Maybe he just forgot to take it with him when he left. I forgot and left my books at school one time (ok, a bunch of times). It could happen. Course they didn't explode or anything, which I guess in a way is a good thing cuz I woulda had to pay for them as they were school property. Um, woulda been a bit complicated to explain why they exploded, too.
