A 36-year-old Little Rock man is dead after getting into a fight with North Little Rock police. Police say the man assaulted an officer and died minutes after another officer pepper sprayed him. Police tell me there was some sort of disturbance at an apartment complex.
When an officer responded Ronny Brown assaulted the officer. Police tell me Brown has a history of assaulting officers. But in this case the result was Brown collapsed and died.
"So when the officers arrived there was a disturbance. There was a large person who assaulted the officer. There was one officer, he was by himself, and he utilized his pepper spray. They tried to take him into custody and that's when he collapsed," said Sgt. Terry Kuykendall with the North Little Rock Police said.
Police say the officers have not been placed on administrative leave and right now Kuykendall says the officers did not cause Brown's death.
