One person is dead, two others wounded, following a shooting in the mall's parking lot. Now police continue to look for the suspect.

This is North Little Rock's 7th homicide of the year. The shooting took place around 1:30 Saturday afternoon on the southside of the mall.

Police found two males with gunshot wounds slumped over inside a parked vehicle, one of them dead. Police learned that the third male, who had also been shot, left the scene prior to officers arrival. One has died as a result of that shooting. The other two were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

It was afternoon when police crews swarmed to the scene of a deadly shooting, in the parking lot of North Little Rock’s McCain mall.

Capt. Leonard Montgomery with the North Little Rock Police Department said, "Apparently we had a group of people who had met previously somewhere in town, had an altercation somewhere else. They met again here in the parking lot, shots were fired, three persons shot and one has died."

Very little information was released at the crime scene but tips are pouring in. "We have suspect information and witnesses."

Meanwhile, officials with McCain Mall released this information from a statement to FOX16 news. "It is unfortunate anytime an incident like this occurs in our community. We are committed to providing a safe, quality shopping environment for our shoppers and mall employees."

The shocking news also caught some shoppers off guard. "It was just an unfortunate incident that happened."

With many, like Deborah Payne, staying alert anywhere, and at all times. "I feel like we just have to be safer. We have to lock our doors. We have to go in pairs and we just have to be careful when we're out."

Bill Ragsdale is visiting from Alabama. Even though he heard about the shootings, he says he has no fear of the McCain Mall area. “This is such a nice area, we've been dining here every night and decided to come back out."

The North Little Rock Police Department has now released the names and condition reports of the victims. They are all African American males. Deceased is 18-year-old Lademon F. Taylor.

Eighteen-year-old Chris D. Taylor is in critical condition tonight at a local hospital. And 18-year-old Leslie Harper has been treated and released. Again, there is no suspect in custody or no known motive at this time. Police are still searching for clues leading to an arrest.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses. They're asking anyone with information to call North Little Rock police.
