Medical marijuana, other issues on Ark. ballot

Less than a decade ago, Arkansas residents couldn't play video poker, take part in a church raffle or make marks on a bingo card for their favorite charity. In another sign of the state's cultural shift, voters Tuesday are considering whether to let certain medical patients buy marijuana to ease their symptoms.

SAY YES TO 5!!!!!! I have a condition that causes me to be in pain 24/7 and I take alot of pills to keep the pain at a bare minimum. Marijuana has already been proved to help people with my condition. Anyone who thinks that handfull of pills with many side effects including memory loss, seizures, blindness and death is better than marijuana. VOTE YES!!!!!!

Arkansas NeoCons are Absolute HIPPOCRATES! I voted Rebublican across the board in District 4! You NeoCons refused to allow Obama to dictate your healthcare.....Yet you have no problem dictating mine! I wore the uniform of this Great Country and for doing so I am 100% Total and Permanently Service Connected Disabled. I have no idea if Medical Marijuana will help my pain, I have no legal Avenue to find out, and too much to lose by doing so illegally. I can tell you that the Hand-full of pills I take daily and another hand-full to help the side effect from the first are not good for me, you, or anyone else. YOU PAY FOR THEM! I did not ask you to pay for Medical Marijuana! I only asked you to give me the same OPTION TO CHOOSE that you want out of the next President. How dare you say your part of the Moral Majority! What's good for the goose isn't good for the Gander? Plain and simple The Neocons of Arkansas stand only for "their" Brand of Fascism and against the other side's Brand of Fascism, But Never for the People, Never for what is right. It's ok though I'll Continue to relieve my pain on your Dollars at 4 and 5 times the price. I only wanted the chance to choose on my own dime. Sincerely, Disillusioned, Disabled Veteran of the Country I can no longer Recognize.

I early voted for Issue 5 and against all other issues. I personally think they should fully legalize marijuana and tax it like alcohol.

I Say Yes To 5! As a Pain Management person, I think it's high time this be brought up for a vote. The medication I take suppresses my appetite and causes me to loose sleep. It seems to me that marijuana helps in regards to both and some strains even help a lot with my pain. The opponents would have you believe that marijuana leads to other drugs and tells people who addictive it is, I say that's not true. As a pain management person I'm drug tested on a regular schedule, so I have to stop smoking in order to pass the UA. I can honestly say there's no withdraw at all and I tend to take less of the very addictive drugs that are prescribed by my doctors. I truly hope this passes not just for health reasons, but because if you get caught with it, you goto jail and then have a record and finding a good job becomes hard to find. Out of all the issues before Arkansans today, I feel this is one of the most important. Regards, R. Copeland
