A Winter Weather advisory is in effect for much of Central Arkansas through Friday morning.

A mixture of sleet, freezing rain and rain will push through Central Arkansas during the morning hours. Some ice accumulation is likely with more than one tenth of an inch of ice in some spots. Bridges and overpasses may become very slick in some spots to use extreme caution traveling during the morning. As temperatures warm above freezing, any freezing rain will change to plain rain by shortly after daybreak. Some showers will linger into the afternoon.

Temperatures will remain safely above freezing during the day on Friday, so travel conditions should quickly improve. Computer model temperatures show temperatures across most of the State above freezing by Friday mid-morning.

Rain showers may briefly switch over to some snow showers Friday evening, especially for parts of Northeast Arkansas. Significant accumulation of snow is not expected.
