The cause of the accident was excessive speed and erratic driving. approx 9:30pm ...seconds before he crashed he passed me on batesville pike doing 80-90 mph not even 1/2 a mile from were crash scene was i passed him the first time and didnt even see the car it was so far off the road ..and when i was coming back approx 9:50pm later my passenger seen the car and i asked him if it was the silver cavalier that had passed us earlier he said yes sombody is in there.....we were the first on the scene we stopped some ppl while calling for help they tried giving him CPR but the car was so mangled there was not a lot they could do but ....i would like to commend my fellow neighbors who did all they could...let record show the nlr police responded 1st in 17 min next ambulance then fire ....my prayers go out to this kids family ...i just know he was in a hurry somewhere and should have slowed his speed ......as far as texting while driving goes he may have tryed to text for help......as he did have a pulse when we got there

This texting and driving does bother me. I'd like to see a jamming device required in all new cars. I don't even like to talk on the phone driving. I also have a hands free and will not answer the phone driving. How can I afford to with most of the rest of you nuts doing it. Someone has to be watchful.

Frankly Texting is not allways the blame. Before cell or smart phones people ran off the road because they were fumbling with the radio or tape player,or dropped the ciggarett lighter,or and many other things that may distract one from what they should be doing. A loud booming sound from a cars speakers would fit perfectly.

Thats what happens when you text and drive. When are you folks that do this going to learn? I'm glad no one else was killed or injured due to his negligence. Prayers are with the family for their lose.
