New Pulaski Tech Campus

Pulaski Tech is putting the finishing touches on all 159,000 square feet of its new Little Rock South Campus.
Pulaski Tech is putting the finishing touches on all 159,000 square feet of its new Little Rock South Campus. The technical college bought the old Little Rock Expo Center on I-30, and come August 18th will be home to expanded programs in automotive fields, as well as general education college courses.

"We've put an enormous amount of energy turning this into a first-class college," said Tim Jones.

Angela Hickman, a Culinary Arts major, is one of the 3500 students to attend classes at the new Pulaski Technical Little Rock South site. One day she hopes to open up her very own deli/coffee shop. She likes the new site because of its central location. "It's not that far and with gas prices high it's nice that I don't have to cross the river or anything," she says.

The new site will house the Transportation Technology Center and the Arkansas Culinary School.

While pizza and burgers are standard fare at a college cafe, since the culinary school will be located here, students can also expect some gourmet items like crème brulee, or even bruschetta.

The college will also offer several other general ed classes including Computer Information, Developmental Education, Early Childhood Development, E-con, and Fine Arts.

"It's important that people in Pulaski County and Saline County know we are a great resource. We offer anything you would expect - Psychology, Sociology, English, Math and Science labs," said Tim Jones.

The new site will also have a new library, tutoring services, and open-use computer labs. Classes at Pulaski Tech Little Rock South will begin on August 18th. Registration will continue until August 13th. For more information, log onto: http://www.pulaskitech.edu
