No Trial Date Yet For Man Charged In Conway Officer's Death

The man charged with striking and killing a Conway Police officer will return to court for a June hearing before receiving a trial date.
CONWAY, AR - The man accused of striking and killing a Conway Police officer will return to court for a June hearing before receiving a trial date.

Barry Strickland, 31, of Searcy is charged with first degree battery and driving while intoxicated connected to the January 31st accident on Dave Ward Drive that killed Conway Police officer William McGary.

Strickland appeared for a pre-trial hearing on Wednesday before circuit judge Charles Dawson.

Dawson set the next court hearing for June 5 at 9am where a trial date is expected to be announced.

LaTresha Woodruff with the Conway Police Department says the hearing Wednesday was attended by several officers in the courtroom.
