People who live near or travel around the northeast side of Camp Robinson on the Pulaski County-Faulkner County line are being warned about noise in the area from noon until about nine o'clock tonight.

Soldiers from around the nation will be firing live mortar rounds in exercises with the Arkansas National Guard's 233rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute (RTI).

The exercises are taking place near Cato, south of Highway 89.

The Guard assures the public that there should be no cause for concern when the explosive sounds travel outside Camp Robinson's perimeter.

The 233rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute trains soldiers from all 50 states and four U.S. territories through a variety of offered courses. Along with offering various artillery training courses, the RTI is home to both the largest Infantry school and the only signal school in the National Guard as a whole.
