LITTLE ROCK, AR - Numerous thunderstorms rocked the northern side of Arkansas Sunday evening bringing large hail and gusty winds.

Damage reports ranged from tennis ball size hail in Northern White County at 7 p.m. to small tree limbs falling on a roof in Pottsville at 8 p.m. Along with the damage, over 2,000 people were without power when the storms hit the region

In the town of Shirley in Van Buren County there are reports of trees and power lines down but no injuries have been reported.

In Batesville there are reports of 12 homes damaged by falling. One home has fire damage after a power line fell on it.

John Robinson of the National Weather Service is going with a team first to Shirley then over to Batesville to inspect the damage

Tommy Jackson of Arkansas Department of Emergency Management tells FOX16 there are also reports of damage in the Cleburne County towns of Greers Ferry, Heber Springs and Drascoe.

Outside of our viewing area there was a brief tornado that touched down in Gosnell in Mississippi County.  No major damage was reported with the intense storms as they cross the Tennessee and Arkansas border.
