NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - North Little Rock Police want the public's help on solving an early morning homicide.
When minister Earnest Franklin heard the news - another homicide, this one right behind his North Little Rock church - he already had a cross ready to go.
"I received several phone calls and they was calling me and I said 'oh no, not right behind,'” Franklin said. “They said 'yes, right behind the building.'"
Police say this homicide investigation started when they met an injured robbery victim at Baptist Spring Hill Hospital. He sent police to the 900 block of I street, where police say they found the homicide victim in the driver's seat of a white car.
"Right now, we just do not know exactly what happened other than this one person we've been able to talk to so we're just trying to piece together all of the information," Lt. Tracy Roulston of the North Little Rock Police Department said.
Franklin, who's part of the Stop The Violence movement, is trying to piece it all together too. He says this neighborhood has seen a recent spike in violent crime.
"All of the sudden the devil began to raise his head," Franklin said.
Now his concern is bringing back the good days…
"We want to keep this community a safe and quiet community as it has been," Franklin said.
...when he didn't keep crosses in the back of his truck.
