A Boone County couple is accused of keeping their children locked in a small room. Tommie Barber, Senior and his wife Anna are each facing two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, a class d felony.

A police report alleges the children, ages 8 and 10, were rarely allowed to leave the room and the carpet was heavily soiled with human waste.

The children have never been to public school and don't know how to read or write. They have been taken out of the home. Barber and his wife are both out of jail on bond.

This is so sad. Just wondering how the cops learned about this situation. Someone had to know these kids lived there.

My heart goes out to the kids, but there is another form of child abuse that is widely accepted .... parents letting the streets raise their kids . Where is the outrage for this kind of child abuse ?

The stsae of Arkansas has a small room for them, they even provide playmates that do not like child abusers. The only thing wrong is that the rooms have toilets in them. I pray the children are placed somewhere safe and are showed the love all childern deserve. These sorry people should never be allowed around any child again!!!!!!! jmo.

Agree, NO bond for child abuse in cases that there is no reasonable doubt; such as this case.I will never understand how parents can treat children this way!

I agree with you Theresa29 lets lock these two in a small room together with nothing and see how long it takes for them to feel the same as these children must have felt. I think the government should do like some other countries...and eye for and eye... jmo

WHY are these people allowed to be released on bond??? People who abuse children should NOT be allowed to post bond. This is a disgrace! God bless those children!
