Parents take issue with Montessori school

One third of the families at North Little Rock Montessori say they plan on pulling their kids out of the school next year. Some already have despite paying thousands in tuition.
NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – One third of the families at North Little Rock Montessori say they plan on pulling their kids out of the school next year. Some already have despite paying thousands in tuition.

The PTO meeting Thursday was filled with emoting, with participants yelling, crying, and eye-rolling. Parents and teachers confronted the school’s principal with a list of 16 problems, ranging from dirty bathrooms to child discipline.

According to one parent, two teachers have left since Christmas break.

Another concerns raised at the meeting were class sizes and the fact the principal and her assistant just take off in the middle of the day.

The principal will meet with the school board Friday as well as meet with the teachers in groups and individually.
