PINE BLUFF, AR - The state crime lab has confirmed that a Pine Bluff man died as the result of ingesting a lethal dose of an unknown substance. Police believe he killed himself after stabbing his sister to death.

On November 8, Lester Thompson discovered the body of 64-year-old Catherine Johnson, in her home. He had gone to check on her after family members reported not hearing from her for several days.

The body of Johnson's brother, 60-year-old Nehmiah Thompson, was also found in the house.

According to Robert Rawlinson with the Pine Bluff Police Department, there were signs of a struggle and blood in several rooms of the house. Police believe Thompson fatally stabbed Johnson during an argument then committed suicide by ingesting a substance which has not yet been identified.

Police have ruled the incident as a homicide and suicide and no arrests are expected.
