PINE BLUFF, AR – A Jefferson County deputy is on paid leave following domestic dispute with wife.

According to a Pine Bluff police report, Deputy Leon Warren told investigators he and his wife Gloria got into an argument because his stepdaughter complained about a pair of pajamas.

Warren and his stepdaughter exchanged words, and his wife approached him about it.

He says his wife then grabbed a glass and hit him on the head with it.

Then – she went toward the dresser drawer, where he keeps one of his guns.

He told investigators he wrestled with her to get the gun and then called emergency on his radio.

Both have been charged with domestic battery.

They were taken to the Brassell Detention Center and were released.

anotther glaring example of how wrong the system is...heavily discriminates...yes i said discriminates against males...a male gets a parking ticket and is charged 500 dollars...a female stole a work truck and got a one year suspended slap on the wrist...judges put aside your shame and guilt in being male...the female judges have no problem "throwing the book at males"...but the opposite is not true....needs to be looked at....just sayin

My mistake, you are correct. Probably released on their own recognizance.

They were not arrested, they were taken to the detention center and released. evidently without any bond for either one.

thats just what the deputy said...is that what really happened? he would obviously know how to spin the story in his favor. abusers are certainly not going to say "yeah beat her up for no reason" my ex used to beat the crap out of me and then tell everyone it was my fault too...although I was always too scared to do anything to him in the first place. Two sides to every story. just sayin

This is pathetic and clearly showing that woman can get away with so much. From reading this report I too agree, I see no reason this officer got arrested. Oh wait, he was arrested for struggeling to get the gun from her before she shot him. The laws of domestic abuse go in many directions. They basically tell you to get to a phone and call police, don't lay a hand on the other person but to block yourself and call police. Well some cases are not that easy, sometimes to have to restrain or use protection. Its just sad relationships get that bad. If the family has too many feuds or don't get along then do something positive instead of negative about it. This officer should not have been arrested.

Sounds like male gender discrimination, nothing new just look at the difference in punishment for teacher/student sex cases. He definitely shouldn't have been arrested based on the facts in the story above.

Ladies if you don't think the step is supposed to live in peace and get respect from your previous marriage children you should pack and leave. Why would you have married him to begin with. Could it have been a meal ticket or not.

I had a stepdaughter from the time she came home from the hospital. Father died before she was born. My wife never let her get out of hand. Parents should be respected step or not. I spent the whole day with mine yesterday. We had a great time.
