CARAWAY, Ark. (AP) — Authorities in northeast Arkansas say a man attacked three boys in a classroom this week.

Caraway Police Officer Kevin Tucker says there wasn't a teacher in the classroom when 47-year-old Michael Stayton attacked the 8-, 9- and 10-year-old boys on Tuesday.

Tucker says authorities suspect Stayton was under the influence of methamphetamine when he grabbed one of the boys at Riverside East Elementary School. Authorities say Stayton also threatened to stab a boy.

Tucker says one boy's parents say he has a broken bone.

Court documents show Stayton of Caraway was arrested on charges of terroristic threatening, battery and false imprisonment. He was ordered to be held on $100,000 bond.

He was appointed a public defender, but the office said Friday an attorney hadn't been assigned to his case.

I don't know if they did anything to his daughter or not. I will say this though. If a child messed with one of mine I'd find the adult that raised you and mess it up real bad. Like to the point of not standing and breathing. No adult should go off on an others child for any reason. The parent is better.

On the evening news on another local outlet, they said he had a daughter at the school; I guess that's how he got inside. Once inside though, I'd think someone from the office would escort him to his daughter's classroom, or contact the daughter' teacher and have her sent to the office; isn't that the way it's supposed to work? bandp; I think ladyofthehill has a good idea. Yes, it reminds some of atrocities committed in the South; but I think she's talking about thugs, tweekers, thieves, robbers, muggers, etc. We have grown tired of the judicial system leting them out to prey on innocents over and over. If people in some places wish to take an evening walk, they have to be combat ready; enough already; it's time to take our streets and communities back. Get a rope!

Just when you think you've heard it all. The children parents should put a LAW SUIT on the school the size of Texas then we'll see how many other people just randomly walk into the school. Money makes things change. And as for the meth head that did this what a waste to society.

Why the heck was he able to get into the classrooms? The schools around here are locked and the only way in is through the office.I hate to say this but,we have not seen anything yet.We are going to have to bring back vigilante justice seems to be the only resource there is.

It's only a matter of time before some Muslim walks into a classroom and sets off a bomb, or parks a car in front of an elementary school packed with explosives. Security at school campuses is a JOKE.

These kids were let down by not only the teachers but the school district. It is the responsibility of the school to protect the kids while in there care...
