BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Police in Bentonville say a 6-year-old girl reported missing early Tuesday has been found dead.

Authorities have released few details about the case but say they're investigating the girl's death as a homicide.

Police Chief Jon Simpson said the girl was reported missing from a home on Southeast A Street at about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday. Police say the child's body was found later Tuesday morning during a neighborhood search.

Authorities declined to release any further details, including how the girl died or where her body was found.

Police say no arrests have been made.

Great ideas objective! Make them public! The father is in prison, the step mommy is also. Don't know where mommy is/was. I'm guessing other family members or DHS were responsible for this girls safety. Bring whoever to justice? Nah, return to Maker for Judgment. It improves the gene pool, one less mouth for the taxpayers to feed, and insures they never, ever, do something like this again! You seem very much against the death penalty. I'm wondering how you feel about abortion.

How does the death penalty punish the perpetrator? At the point and time of the criminal act, hasn’t the act been accomplished and the victim already succumbed? How does killing the criminal bring her back? What about the parent’s responsibility here? Where were they? Who is responsible for the girl here? There is a motive. Something stinks awful here. If you condone capital punishment, and you want its affects to work; then petition the state to have the death penalty aired on public television as a “live” event. Want more impact? For those on death row, who’ve been convicted; have them watch live as well. If you want society to change, and you want to bring back barbaric feudalistic sadistic death penalties, then put your money where your mouth is, and make it a public event, just like the hangings in Fort Smith over one hundred years ago-and require all previously convicted criminals in detention to watch. Otherwise, the effect of death isn’t effective. Pray for the family and let’s bring this b#@stard to justice.

LOL. I thinks maybe someones better half may have ran off with a meth user. If you want to pair something with Chesters as some of us call them why not Christians. Or athletics. Where do most of them usually work at. The meth heads can't pass a drug test to work those places. Besides anyone that has worked in recovery as long as I know a meth user has no use for sex of any kind. Dope is more important in their eyes. I say if you want to take out the perverts start at the churches and schools. Never do I see a story on here about one of these perverts being a meth head. I guess they could be to busy arresting good Christians, teachers, and coaches, so on and so on, to get to the meth molesters. This is a sad story but if you want to start you own personal witch hunt start with where all those arrested and convicted find their victims. Leave it to the people that think straight.

This kind of thing makes my stomach turn. And just as bad - do we have any politicians or DA's in the state doing anything about getting the death penalty back on the menu? Heck no. So if the garbage that did this is caught, they will likely spend the rest of their lives behind bars, at our expense. My thoughts and prayers are with the family; and may Jesus embrace this little one taken from us too soon.
