CONWAY, AR – A Conway mother has been arrested after her 4-year-old son was found with burns, bite marks, and a black eye.

The arrest stems from a December 20th incident when detectives were called by officials at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, who were concerned with 23-year-old Marsha Oliver’s account of how her son was burned.

Police say Oliver told them a story about how she was drawing a bath for her 4-year-old and 3-year-old when she had to leave the room. According to police, Oliver said she shut off the water and took the kids out of the bath. After about 5 minutes, she heard her 4-year-old scream, returned to find him in the tub.

Police say the boy received 2nd degree burns over 12% of his body. Oliver told police that the water was at a “normal” temperature when she left the bathroom. Police also say Oliver waited for 7 hours before taking her son to the hospital.

According to Conway Police, Marsha Oliver changed her story several times describing how her son was burned. Police also say that doctor’s at the hospital noted the boy had a black and swollen eye that occurred recently, along with old scars from healed burns, bite marks, and facial bruising.

At that time, the Department of Human Services took custody of Oliver’s four children. After investigation, Oliver was arrested January 9th and charged with first degree battery.

Butch, she changed her story about how the kid got burned. And I don't know of too many 4 yr old children that are all scarred up. I say burn the effin witch! But you're right, no one should ever ignore what could be signs of child abuse, they did do a great job!

I just kind of wonder in cases like this. If it's true it's shame and crime of the worse kind. Then I think back to my childhood. How many times could my mother have been arrested. Not have done nothing wrong. I have three brothers. When we get into it it's root hog or die. Burns, bite marks, and a black eye. That was a weekly routine with us. I would like to thank the folks that brought this to attention. I don't know if there is flame when I see smoke in the distance. I do know it could be a hot mess not to check it out. Good job people.

I pray that the kids will find a great home that they can learn respect, discipline and the difference between right and wrong and not follow if their worthless mothers footsteps.

There are so many people in the world who wish with all they have they could have children...then you have people like this who just treat them like a piece of trash. I am sorry for the babies, and am praying for them all. The physical scars will heal in time, but, the emotional and mental scars will last a lifetime..children are a gift from GOD, he trusts those of us who have been blessed with them to take care of them..not mistreat them. I hope that she spends a long time locked away to think about the lives that she has ruined..God hold those babies and keep them safe..

From one black female to another. I need to come in contact with you right now and beat the crap out of you as well as burn your baby breeding tail up. Children don't ask to come into this world, you bring them in this world and then treat them like crap. Your child don't deserve this and I pray and hope that you never ever get any of your children back. I don't know what's wrong with some human mothers. I have seen animals treat their babies with more love and respect than some human mothers. I am praying that this child can make a complete recovery behind this ordeal. Please God allow these babies to go into a loving home of protection.

I wonder if this "mother" was leaving her small children in the care of her older children? Sounds like the older kids might have caused harm to that poor little boy. However it happened, it is awful and it was preventable. I hope and pray those kids have loving family members somewhere that will take them in, love them, raise them and let them have a happy childhood while they sill can.
