MAUMELLE, AR – Two people have been found dead in what Maumelle detectives are investigating as a possible murder-suicide.

According to reports, officers from the Maumelle Police Department responded to a residential alarm activation at 15 Bouriese Circle around 3:22 am on November 20.

When they arrived, they found the house locked and were unable to make contact with anyone inside. They returned to their duties, only to return around 5:31 am when a juvenile resident of the home reported that someone had been shot. Officers returned to the home and found one man, identified as 41-year-old Dexter Green, and one woman, identified as 40-year-old Sonia Green, dead from what appeared to be gunshot wounds in the master bedroom.

Police say there were children home at the time of the incident, who fled to a neighbor’s house once they realized what happened.

"They saw the aftermath of that so our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. It's been an extremely difficult time for them, said Lt. Jim Hansard, spokesman for the Maumelle Police Department.

Hansard says police had gone to the house a few months ago for a domestic violence issues.  According to a June police report, Sonia confronted her husband about an extramarital affair. She told police he threw her to the ground and began punching her.  Because of Sonia's injuries, police issued a restraining order to Dexter.

That order had not been lifted.

"When a person makes up their mind to do something like this, how do you stop them?" I asked.

"It's very hard if we don't get a phone call or any kind of forewarning that this is coming," Lt. Hansard said.

In all my years, I've never been able to wrap my mind around why someone would do something like this to their kids. My prayers and thoughts for the children; and I hope someone picks up the "torch" and helps them recover, and provide them a good home.

I had the pleasure of being educated by Mrs. Green at Baptist Health Schools. She is one of the best people we all know and look up to her in every way! LOVE YOU MRS. GREEN May God wrap his arms around you, your babies, mother, and family, friends and the Baptist community

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Police don't issue restraining orders or protection orders, Fox 16. This reporting sounds like a couple of 15 year olds gossiping at school.

Orders of protection are worthless pieces of paper. The people to whom their issued against don't care about the law and plan on committing suicide anyway. Abused spouses need a concealed carry to take care of themselves.

How sad. Just looked up the public records and I was correct in my thinking. Divorce hearing next week and an active Order of Protection. There should be some type of protocol or procedure when residential alarms are set off. Even though I know the respond to dozens of these. But there has to be a way for officers to look up records or something. Prayers for this family.

Prayers for the children and "burn in hell" for the one responsible for this...what a sorry person. UNBELIEVABLE.
