COY, AR – Officials from the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office have arrested two men in connection to a burglary, and recovered the stolen property.
According to reports, police received a call about a residential burglary around 1:14 pm on August 2. When they arrived, the woman who lived at the home told police that when she came home from lunch, she found that the front door to her home was broken into.
Police say five firearms, ammunition, and scopes were stolen from the home. Investigation led to the arrest of 31-year-old David Michael Hocut of Hazen and 28-year-old James Grant Davis of England, AR. Hocut and Davis were arrested around 8:00pm on August 2, on Elam Street in England. The property taken from the residence was recovered.
Hocut was arrested for felony theft by receiving and possession of firearms by certain persons, while Davis was arrested for felony theft by receiving. Police say a criminal charge of residential burglary will be filed through the affidavit process.
Both subjects are being held at the Lonoke County Detention Facility with no bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
