A police chase ends with shots being fired after police say the car tried to run over a Bauxite police officer. Bauxite police tell us this chase started after an Alexander constable attempted to pull the car over in Alexander for a traffic violation. That's when police say the car took off and the constable pursued, ran the plates and says it came back as a stolen car.

Bauxite police tell us one of its officers fired his gun because this car tried to run him over on South Alexander Road before it came to a stop on West Sardis. We're told three people were inside the car two men and a woman. According to police, bullets only hit the driver.

The chase started in Alexander and ended on West Sardis Road in Bauxite. State police spent the afternoon collecting shell casings and piecing together what happened.
