Police chase in Rose Bud lands 2 in jail on drug charges

A police chase in Rose Bud ended in two people being arrested on drug charges.

Around 2:46 Tuesday afternoon, Lonoke County deputy made a routine traffice stop.  When Corporal Dennis Sanderson approached the vehicle, another car pulled around him and the stopped car, pulling into a driveway.

The stopped vehicle then fled the scene.  As Cpl. Sanderson began to pursue the car, the vehicle in the driveway tried to block the patrol car.  Cpl. Sanderson was able to get around the car and continue the pursuit. 

The vehicle that tried to block Cpl. Sanderson was found by other responding deputies. The driver was identified as 19-year-old Rebecca Kay Williams of Cabot. She was arrested for Aggravated assault and Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cpl. Sanderson continued to pursue the fleeing vehicle. The vehicle then struck a picnic table in a front yard residence on Hester Road. The driver, 27-year-old Chon Elex Armstrong, then fled on foot. A search of the area was conducted. Further investigation led Deputies to a home on Tucker Lane.  They found Armstrong hiding under a mattress on a water bed.

Armstrong was arrested for Fleeing, Reckless driving, Possession of a controlled substance, Suspended drivers license.

Armstrong and Williams were transported to the Lonoke County Detention Facility.
