Faulkner County sheriff's deputies are investigating a double homicide in the Mt. Vernon community.  Elroy Thomas, 41 and Jeffery Thomas, 43, were killed in a home at 101 Clear Creek Ranch Road. The home owner is now being questioned.

Detectives spent the afternoon going over the scene and piecing together what happened. They say that the homeowner may have been defending himself. A 30-30 rifle was found which investigators say belongs to the homeowner.

"At this point we're not looking at who did this, we're looking at some circumstances regarding why [the shootings happened] and investigating that. The public is not in any danger. We have someone who is not in custody [but] they are fully cooperating in the investigation," says Major Andy Shock with the Faulkner County Sheriff's Department.

Investigators say Elroy and Jeffrey Thomas were each shot once. Jeffrey died at the scene. Elroy was died on the way to the hospital.

Then file compliants with the sheriffs dept. If enough people complian they will have to look into it also email your local tv staions for hel. Offer to interview for the family. This is a huge story. Your comments are not reaching the whole community. If your that upset and think its not right then do something about it. Drug dealer or drug addicts or not we have a right to be safe. We only have a right to defend our property if it is being stolen or we are being threatened

I guess if your a drug dealer in Faulkner Co. it's considered self defense when you shoot and kill two of your unarmed customers if they come to your house and demand a refund? Come on sheriff,no forced entry,no other weapons,no injuries to the shooter?Sounds kind of fishy too me?

Johnboy...Great reporting!! I just wonder why are you referring to 40 year old grown men as boys? This is the risk you take when you get into drugs. Like they expecteed a DRUG DEALER to have morals? There is no money back customer satisfaction guarantee when you are dealing with drug dealers.

Jeffrey and Elroy's mom lives nearby. One of the brothers regularly buy drugs from the drug dealer on Clear Creek Ranch Rd. After getting home from purchasing drugs, one of the brothers realize that there is something wrong with the drugs. He decides he wants to ask for his money back. He asks his brother and uncle to go back to the Drug Dealer's house with him to make sure that nothing goes wrong. The mother knew where the boys were going, and tried to convince them to forget about it. The brothers knock on the door, and enter the house of the drug dealer as usual. Their uncle stays outside waiting on the front porch. The uncle suddenly hears gunfire as the drug dealer shoots his 2 nephews. He also sees the drug dealer kick one of the boys out of the doorway. The uncle runs back home and calls the police. So it's the story of a drug dealer, who not only sells bad product, but also kills people who stupidly ask for their money back. The man on Clear Creek Ranch Road should hope that the Police arrest him and put him away for dealing drugs and for murder. If not, he can rest assured that family members of the dead brothers will get their revenge.
