A 16-year-old high school student shares her startling story exclusively with FOX16. Investigators are looking for a man they say tried to abduct the teen after offering drugs and sex.

The teen wishes to remain anonymous but she's speaking out so other students can be on guard. She says she was on her lunch break from school when something out of the ordinary happened.

"I didn't know what to expect,” she said.

Seconds seemed like hours for the 16-year-old when she says a man drove up to her near Malvern High School during her lunch break.

"This car drove past me and then reversed. I tried to walk away and he reversed even more,” she explains.

Then she says this stranger offered her cigarettes and marijuana. She declined.

"Then the conversation got detailed to where she was going, what grade she was in and the proposition of sex,” said Cpl. Sonny Hall of Malvern Police.

He says the teen then ran away after the man tried to pull her into the car.

"He actually got the door open and he was five inches from grabbing me,” the teen says.

Moments later a friend found her at a nearby convenience store and walked her back to school. Administrators called police.

"She was still shaken up here at the station talking to us about the details of what happened,” Cpl. Hall says.

"If I didn't run or at least tell somebody, this could happen to the next girl or I wouldn't even be here right now,” she said.

Police are looking for the man who drove newer model white Chevy Cobalt. School staff members are encouraging students to be alert and aware of their surroundings.

Malvern High School has an open campus policy during lunch for 11th and 12th graders. That means they can leave campus but must return before their next class.  The school’s resource officer is investigating and watching out to make sure this incident doesn't happen again.
