JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say they had arrested a man days before he allegedly made a bomb threat about a dormitory at Arkansas State University.
Police and court records show officers arrested 44-year-old Carlan Neugene Walker of Jonesboro on a drunk, insane or disorderly charge Sunday before he allegedly made a bomb threat Tuesday.
Authorities didn't find any explosives on campus, though a dorm and surrounding areas were evacuated. Walker was arrested on communicating a false alarm and other charges.
Records show police arrested Walker Sunday after he allegedly told an officer he was trying to find a car his dead sister had left him.
Court records show Walker was appointed a public defender, but he hadn't been assigned an attorney as of Thursday.
Walker is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 30.
