LITTLE ROCK, AR -- On Colonel Glenn Road, the trees and power lines were no match for the heavy snow and ice!

It knocked them down, and that shut off power to the Hardwicks.

"It's knocked down our telephone wires, too. We've got no telephone and we've got no electricity. They keep putting the slush in our yard," Vickie Hardwick said.

Entergy workers say they have over 4,000 linemen from neighboring states to help restore power. The problem, though, is crews can't get to work right away because of the huge, fallen trees and the icy roads.

"It's a lot of blankets. What else are you going to do when you don't have money and don't have any place else to go?  You have to stay in the house," Hardwick said.

Neighbors on Romine Road in Little Rock welcomed utility workers from Missouri.  Some even went outside to watch them.

"Teenagers, phones are our lives. We don't have our phones then we don't have anything at all," Charles Carroll said.

I guess there are some that can't live with out a phone and it's sad. Although there are some that use their phone to work. It's their job, income and well being. My friend works for a high end computer company. He uses his all the time. Works wherever he is. Including the casting deck of that ranger bass boat, tree stand, or duck blind. Technology is a wonderful thing. Don't whine if you were left behind. As time goes on more and more jobs will be out there like that. I pray more and more of our young will advance in those fields. So you see if you feel a tightness around your neck it may not be the hang mans fault. You might need to exercise your own advice. Can you even understand how great it is to be able to fix a main frame with 1000 hard drives in it while catching small mouth bass on the lake. I figure not.

Well Charles... Welcome to the real world kiddo. Ther's A whole lot more to life than just a phone. But ofcorse if you never pull your head out of it.... You would never know. It's all starting to come togeather for me now. That's why qualifications are so low and people can't seem to find jobs. If you can't get it or work it from your phone than your just lost. I have a suggetion for people like that... Take your right hand and put it over your head and grab your left ear... and at the same time... Take your left hand and put it over your head and grab your right ear.... Now hold that position and pull!!! Thats the way you pull your head outta your a$$. If alot more people would do that. The world would be a better place.
