heres the deal erik's death was no suicide it was 100% neglect. Its 100% pulaski counties fault the guards dont give a f. And theres noway on Gods green Earth that the State Examiners office will rule that the state is at fault the cause of death will come back as some bogus bull. so the state dont get sued. I just hope his family gets a second opinion from a outside source and pursues it to the fullest. if it was my family id sue pulaski county detention center clean off the map. just cause ur incarserated dosent mean u shouldnt have rights for medical care.

My apologies. I guess you know the story? You were in the same cell when he died? I did write that we all should have a little sympathy for the family. Miss that part did you? OK, maybe he didn't hang himself; maybe it was the alcohol that got him. I'm not judging the man; I've had issues with booze myself until I gave it up in '97. Again, my sympathy to the family.

Alcohol is a much more dangerous detox than heroin when it comes to seizures, the average person does not recognize this though. That is why I have a hard time understanding why pot is not legal, it has no such withdrawal symptoms-go figure

Arkansas Yankee,,,You should know the story before commenting...why would you say something about this man when you do not the story. He has a mother that does not need to read such things like "I guess he hung himself" His mother is a very dear friend of mine and going through pure hell right now. Also it was not a "parole violation"....never been in prison just on probation! May God bless his mother during this mightmare!

I knew Erik and I don't believe that he would consider taking his own life, besides, how could he if he was locked up and "supposedly" under suicide watch. I agree with samcrow . Cops just say that to cover the butts. They probably hadn't checked on him all night. Hopefully the truth will be told. Prayers go out to his mother and family.

I know for a fact that something went on at that jail. I am Erik's Mother. And it was not a parole violation! It was a probation violation (one day late in paying his probation dues.) He was an alcoholic and had been to court that morning for another charge and was supposed to go directly to a rehab, but had to go to probation officer and was arrected there. So cold turkey for a very heavy, long term drinker. Go figure.

Butch does have a good point, but suicide is sometimes hard to prevent

Story mentions a "suicide watch check"; have a little sympathy for the family guys. Ya can't watch 'em 24/7. Sam; el beebe can't keep tabs on all the jails in AR. Butch; knowing your history, one would think you'd have a little more understanding of the situation; a little too harsh there weren't you? I'm not defending the man; don't know what his violation was - but I'm guessing he hung himself.

Should have stayed home. Living at home and doing the right thing work out to not dieing in a cell.
