Rapert Will Run For Senate Seat

State Senator Jason Rapert will run for re-election for State Senate.
LITTLE ROCK,AR - Senator Jason Rapert announced Wednesday that he would seek re-election to the Arkansas Senate from District 35, which encompasses the city of Conway and parts of Faulkner and Perry Counties.

"Through much prayer and consideration with my family, I have chosen to run for re-election to the Arkansas Senate," Rapert said. I believe that I can best impact policy for the State of Arkansas and positively impact my district in my current Senate seat. I enjoy representing the citizens of my district and I also enjoy working with my colleagues in the Arkansas Senate," Rapert said.

Rapert, 41, is the President and CEO of Rapert Financial & Associates, He was first elected to the Senate in 2010 and due to statewide reapportionment of Senate district boundaries he ran for re-election and won in 2012.

In the 2013 legislative session Rapert joined the Senate leadership and was the lead sponsor of Act 301, the Human Heartbeat Protection Act. It prohibits abortions when the physician can detect a heartbeat using ultrasound at 12 weeks unless exceptions are met, and is one of the most restrictive anti-abortion laws in the United States.
