NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney named Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate Saturday.

Romney says Ryan is a man of what he calls "great steadiness" and "unquestioned integrity." The former Massachusetts governor says Ryan is a "shining exception" in a political world of pettiness.

The two appeared together for the first time as the Republican presidential ticket on Saturday morning in Virginia. They faced supporters while standing on the USS Wisconsin, a retired aircraft carrier.

Just hours after his campaign confirmed Ryan as his selection, Romney says Ryan won't demonize his opponents. Romney says that Democrats may disagree with Ryan's policies, but he doesn't know anyone who doesn't respect his character and judgment.

Paul Ryan was a great choice! A tea party candidate who believes in the constitution and will balance out romney's fault..Maybe there is "hope" after all.

As usual, you are right Butch; but I'd rather keep my Bill of Rights while alive. I firmly believe the Dems, along with their buddies at the UN, want to get rid of the 2nd Ammendment, and if they succeed, then they can get rid of the others if they wish. Many a tyrant has done it that way; get rid of the people's ability to fight back, and then take away the rest of their rights; starting with speech and press. Hitler is a prime example of this very tactic.

Bad as it sounds it's not far from the moment of truth. We will all live no matter how it goes.

It scares the H--- out of me to think Obozo could win in November, I think Romney was the wrong choice but I do like Paul Ryan and maybe he will help Romney in November but it might not be enough. The liberals in this country live in a different world than the rest of us, they think it is okay for Obozo to hide everything in his past and Romney must disclose everything in his!!!!

Not a bad choice at all. It really didn't matter. Obozo is done. Come Nov. we can try to get this once great and feared country back on track. It's gonna take a while after what Obozo and his cronies have done....but we can. And thank God for that.
