LITTLE ROCK, AR -- American Idol searched The Natural State for natural talent Saturday.

A few golden tickets were handed out advancing people on to the next round.  One of them went to Montana Hubbard who says she has been singing ever since she could talk.

"Music is my life pretty much," she says.  "I would fall apart without it."

The 17 year old has competed in some local contests near her hometown of Russellville.   She was planning on going to American Idol auditions in Dallas until hearing the bus was coming to Little Rock.

With nervous family members watching on, Hubbard stepped in front of the judges, and she did not disappoint.

"She turned back and smiled, and when she did I knew she made it," said Hubbard's mom. "I can't even believe it."

Hubbard will have to get used to the cameras following her around if she continues to advance, but after making it through the long lines to be picked, that's a good problem to have.

Next stop: round two.

"I'm nervous about it already, but I'm looking forward to it," Hubbard said. "I'm excited. I can't wait to see what the future holds."

Hubbard got to pick the location for her round two audition.  She picked Austin, Texas.
